A skills section is one of the highest-leverage places to improve keyword match, but it's easy to overdo.
Group by category
Instead of one long undifferentiated list, group skills under 2-4 short headers like "Technical," "Languages," or "Tools" — easier to scan and still fully parseable.
Only list what you can defend
Every skill listed is a fair question in an interview. List honestly, at a level you can actually discuss.
Match the job posting's terms exactly once
If the listing says "project management" and you'd naturally write "managing projects," include the exact phrase at least once, somewhere true.
